As part of Wakefield’s bi-monthly Artwalk I will be hosting an evening at Unity Works on the 29th March 2017.
An evening out with a difference is just what you’ll get if you go along to an Artwalk. If you’re a free spirit who likes to live unfettered by rules then this could be just for you! Six times a year various venues across the city open their doors, displaying work from some of the freshest, up and coming artists in the region.
The route you take and the order you visit the venues in is entirely up to you but keep a look out, some of the venues are not the traditional art galleries that you may expect! See an exhibition in a bar, make crafts in a chapel, enjoy live music in the library or even watch a performance in the solicitor’s office!
One of the great things about the Artwalk is having the chance to meet the artists who have created the exhibition that you’re admiring; some may even work while you watch; you could be there as the ‘next big thing’ emerges!
So pop on some comfy shoes, pack your inquisitive mind and take your sense of adventure – that’s all you need for an evening on the Artwalk!
