Breaking through

My painting practice seems to be on a trajectory of its own at the moment. No sooner do I show up in my studio than I feel that inner pulling and the series of paintings that I’m currently creating is my response to it. I’ve recently been working on several paintings at the same time, this one began to show signs of early promise but then for some reason stalled. After sitting, scratching my head and not getting anywhere I decided to put it to one side.

Today I returned to it with a fresh approach, instead of analyzing and trying to work out what it needed, I decided to just go with the flow – more right brain thinking, less left brain thinking.

I’ve named it Breaking Through.
